Krishnapuram

Formerly known as Venkatapuram



Krishnapuram is a small village in Tirunelveli District. It is famous for ancient life-size sculptures with intricate workmanship. The village is named after King Kumar Krishnappa Naicker, who constructed the Krishnapuram Temple here. There are also twin Lakshmi shrines.

The Geomagnetic Equatorial Research Lab near Krishnapuram is an observatory center. On the way to Tiruchendur, Krishnapuram is at a distance of 10 km from Tirunelveli.
