Situated on the banks of Cauvery River, Krishanarayapuram (also spelt Krishnarayapuram) is the headquarters of a taluk in the Karur District , Tamil Nadu. It lies in between Karur and Kulittalai. Thottiyam is situated in the north-east, Kattuputhur in the north-west, Uppidamangalam in the south-west and Mahadhanapuram in the east. Maha Lakshmi Amman Temple is the prime landmark. This temple was built by Raja Krishna Deva Raya, hence the name 'Krishanarayapuram'. Sri Jaya Anjaneya Swami Temple at Lalapet, Kalyana Venkattaramasami Temple at Thanthoni, Vennaimalai Subramanyar Temple, Kadambavananathar Temple at Kulittalai and Shantivanam Church are nearby tourist spots. Hotel Nandhini and Hotel Valluvar at Karur provide accommodation. Tiruchirapalli Airport is the nearest airport. Mayanoor Railway Station serves the town. Krishanarayapuram can be approached from Karur and Kulittalai by road.
