Kottayi is a small village situated about 15 km from
Palakkad, in
Kerala. It is the native place of the late Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, the doyen of Karnatic music.
Kottayi can be accessed from Palakkad viz Putur. Palakkad Town Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
