Kottakkal Pooram is celebrated in association with the annual festival at the Sree Vishwambara Temple in Kottakkal. It is performed during March-April and is attractive for its cultural festivity. Connoisseurs of music, art, culture and literature of the country participate in the cultural mela organized in connection with the pooram. The main highlights of the seven-day ceremony include Chakyarkoothu, Ottan Thullal, Panchavadyam and the night long Kathakali.
