Koteshwara




Situated about 4 km from Kundapura, Koteshwara is a small village in the rural hinterland of Karnataka. It is famous for its sedate and tranquil atmosphere. Blessed with natural beauty, it is one of the seven holy places around Kundapura. The place is well known for the Kotilingeshwara Temple. The main temple is surrounded by many small shrines dedicate to Lord Ganesh, Lord Muruga, Mahishasuramardini, Jyestha-Lakshmi, Lord Krishna and Saptamatrikas. The annual festival of the village is celebrated in the month of Vrischika (Scorpio) on a full moon day.

Mangalore Airport is the nearest airport and Kundapura Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
