Kota is a taluk headquarters and prominent town in Bilaspur District of Chhattisgarh. It is about 28 km north-west of Bilaspur.
Ratanpur, around 10 km east, is a major tourist destination in the district. Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary is west of Kota.
Nearest airport is at Raipur. Kargi Road Railway Station on the Anuppur – Bilaspur rail route is the nearest railhead.
