Kopi

Kopi is an indigenous water bottle of Rajasthan made from camel hide. These water bottles are crafted in Bikaner District.

The leather used in the making is first softened and then stretched over a clay mold of the desired shape. The clay is later washed away. Patterns are then created on the surface. A mixture of shell powder, glue and certain wooden powder is applied on the portions meant for adornment to provide a base for painting. These portions are painted with gold and various other shades, while the remaining portions on the leather are colored in black or red.

The design schemes used are those found in any handicraft object originating from Rajasthan. These water bottles are more of an art-piece than an object of daily use.
