Koompanpara Temple is located about 5 km from Kallummel Kallu in Idukki District. It is near Thookupalam. Koompanpara Temple is an ancient temple believed to have been visited by the Pandavas during their passage through the forest. A large single rock on the northern side facing Kallummel Kallu, makes up one of the four sidewalls of the temple.

Kattappana route can take one to Thookupalam, where lodging facilities are available.
