Kolukkumalai is a tea estate located in the upper reaches of
Tamil Nadu's
Theni District, close to
Kerala border. This estate lies 8,000 ft above the mean sea level. This hill abounding in tea plantations is a fine spot, with a lovely atmosphere.
Kolukkumalai is famed for its spectacular views, breathtaking in their magnitude and beauty. Elephants, guar, sambar and sloth bear can be seen in the adjacent jungles.
The best time to visit the estate is between December and May. Guide services are also available. This place can be accessed only by jeeps.
Kolukkumalai is 35 km from Munnar, Kerala’s evergreen hill resort. Aluva Railway Station and Cochin International Airport are the nearest railway station and airport.
