Kollur Madhom is one of the six Potti madoms that are part of the Ettara Yogam
, who were the traditional custodians of the day to day management of the Sree Padmanabha Temple
, until the reign of Marthanda Varma. The madom is located at Kannamoola
. The madhom owned and managed a Devi temple as well as a Sastha temple in Kannamoola.
The members of the madhom were once considered some of the greatest tantris of Travancore. Copper plates dated A D 1139 have been discovered at the madhom, attesting to its historicity. The madhom even today holds rights to perform worship in the major temples of Thiruvananthapuram during festival time, a privilege that it had derived earlier in its days of pre-eminence.
