Kolli Hills

Kollimalai



Kolli Hills, an outliner of the Eastern Ghats, covers an area of about 1035 sq km. The name Kollimalai refers to the mountain's once hostile nature. Black bears, hares, porcupines, and wild dogs are seen here. The highest point in the range is about 1219 m from sea level. Sandalwood, bamboo, timber, and firewood are the main products from the forest.

Puliyancholai a place of scenic beauty, Kollimalai Arappaleeswarar Temple and an ancient Muruga temple are the main attractions.
