Kodai Lake




Kodai Lake in Kodaikanal is a star shaped, man made lake, spread over an area of 24 hectares. The lake is surrounded by a 5 kilometer long road. The lake was created in 1863 by Sir Vere Henry Levinge, who was previously the Collector of Madurai. There is boating facility in the lake. The boat club was formed in 1890 and the boat service was opened to the public and tourists as well in 1932. Fishing is allowed in the lake.
