Koba Teerth




Koba Teerth is a famous Jain pilgrim center located at Koba, on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad Highway, in Gujarat. This beautiful shrine is situated on the bank of the Sabarmati River . The temple enshrines a white colored idol of Bhagwan Mahavir in Padmasana posture.

Koba Teerth was built in memory of His Holiness Acharyashri Kailas Sagarsuriji Maharaj Saheb in 1980. Most noteworthy feature of the shrine is that every year on May 22, the first ray of the rising sun passes through the pinnacle and fell on the mark of pigment on the forehead of the idol of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami.

Koba Teerth can be easily accessed by bus from Ahmedabad Bus Station. Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead (16 km).
