Khurpatal




Khurpatal is a small hamlet situated on the Bajpur-Kaladgungi Road, about 12 km from Nainital, in Uttaranchal. Situated at an altitude of 5,500 ft above the sea level, this beautiful hamlet is frequented by tourists due to its pleasant climate and a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. Khurpatal exudes pleasant natural fragrance and tranquility and is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Till the 19th century AD, Khurpatal was famous for making iron implements but nowadays the place is more recognized for vegetable farm. Bhimtal is about 22 km from Nainital and is the largest lake of the region. There is an island in the middle of the lake.

Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
