Khuni Darwaza

Also known as Lal-Darwaza or Kabuli Darwaza

Khuni Darwaza, a double-storeyed gate built by Sher Shah Suri, stands to the right on the Mathura road near Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. The blood stained gate was built largely with grey and red stone. At this gateway two of Bahadur Shah Zafar’s sons were brutally killed by the British colonialists. Hence, it got its name as Khuni Darwaza.
