Built by the Bhonsales of Sawantwadi, Khorjuvem Fort is located in the village of
Aldona in
Bardez Taluk of
North Goa District. During the 17th century, the Portuguese conquered the fort and then afterwards they reconstructed it. There is a watch tower which gave a clear view of the surrounding areas and helped to trace the enemies who were encroaching in this area. Today, it is one of the important tourist spots in
Goa, situated at a distance of 23 km from
Panaji.
