Khoont is a small village situated just two kilometers from Sitalakhet, in
Almora District, in
Uttaranchal. It is renowned as the ancestral village of Pandit Govind Bhallab Pant, the freedom fighter and former Home Minister of India. A centenary memorial stands at Khoont in his honor.
