Khara

Khara is an ancient village located about 7 km from Tarn Taran, in Amritsar District, Punjab. The village assumed prominence after the visit of Guru Arjan Sahib, who stayed here in 1590, at the time of the digging of the sarovar at Tarn Taran.

There are two gurdwaras in the village - the Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib and Gurdwara Manji Sahib. The former is situated outside the village while the latter has been constructed at the site where Guru Arjan Sahib stayed.

Tarn Taran Railway Station is the nearest railway station and Amritsar International Airport is the nearest airport.
