Khalse




Khalse is a small village noted for ancient monasteries and nunneries. Located close to the beautiful Lamayuru Village in Ladakh, this place houses the famous Rizong Monastery and Julichen Nunnery. A 10th century monastery, built in Ladakhi architectural style, is the nearby attraction. The ruins of a fort constructed by Jorabar Singh, the chief of the Dogra king, is an ancient relic.

In order to reach here, tourists can avail the bus services from Srinagar / Kargil-Leh by way of Khalse. Comfortable accommodation facilities are available.
