Khadipada




Khadipada in Bhadrak District is a place of great archeological importance. Once it was a celebrated seat of Mahayanic cult. Many artifacts have been unearthed from this place. These valuable artifacts including six colossal images of Buddha and Bodhisattva are displayed in the Orissa State Museum. Gohiratikiri, a place very near to Khadipada is identified as the capital of the Bhaumakara Dynasty, whose rulers were followers of Buddhism.

The nearest railhead is Bhadrak Railway Station.
