Kewati Dal

Kewati Dal is a delicious combination of five types of dals (pulses) cooked with spices. The pulses, bengal gram dal, black gram dal, split green gram dal, lentil and split red gram dal, are used in this curry. To make this dish, soaked dals are cooked in pressure cooker with turmeric. Then mash the dals and add onions, green chilies, coriander, garlic and other spices to it. Finally, the cooked dish is seasoned with cumin seeds, garlic, curry leaves, whole red chilies and onions in coconut oil. The dish, sprinkled with lime juice, should be served hot.
