Kerala Public Service Commission




Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) is an organization created by the constitution of India. The commission advises the Government on all matters relating to civil services, including inviting applications for the selection to various positions, conducting written tests and /or practical tests and to prepare the rank lists based on the performance of the candidates. The Head Office of the commission is located at Thulasi Hill at Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.

The present Kerala Public Service Commission came into being by the transformation of the Travancore Cochin Public Service commission during the formation of the State of Kerala.

KPSC has three regional offices at Kollam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode which have been constituted for decentralizing state wide selections.

The secretary is the head of the office and is appointed by the commission with prior approval of the Governor. The chairman and members are appointed by the Governor of the State.

The various functions of the commission are carried out by the recruitment wing, examination wing, departmental test wing, advice/consultation wing, secret section, research and analysis wing, public relation unit, establishment wing, accounts wing, records section, fair copy sections, tappal sections and library.

Buses are available from Thiruvananthapuram Central Bus Station and City Bus Station (East Fort Station). Trivandrum International Airport at Shanghumugham (7 km) and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station (5 km) are the nearest airport and railway station.
