Kelva Fort

Kelva Fort in Thane District was constructed by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Situated to the southern end of the Kelva Beach, the fort offers an enchanting view of nature dotted with Suru trees.

Surrounded by water body, this fort looks more charming during high tide even though it is inaccessible at that time. At low tide the features of the fort are more discernible. Sheetladevi Temple is a nearby attraction.

Kelva Fort can be reached from Palghar, 8 km away. The nearest railhead is Palghar Railway Station on the Vadodara-Mumbai route.
