Keertigedde




Keertigedde is a small sleepy village located 19 kilometers east of Dodmane, on the Siddapur-Honavar road in Uttara Kannada District. Numerous trees, hillocks and rivers dotting its terrain add to the scenic bliss. The Dodmane River is the main attraction of this scenic village and in the backdrop one can see the beautiful view of the Sahyadri mountain ranges. People in Keertigedde are engaged in agriculture and poultry farming. Chandavar, the capital of Kadamba kings, ruined fort, Roman Catholic Church built in 1874 and Bastikeri which has a beautiful icon of a Jain Teerthankar are worth visiting.

Visitors can enjoy a couple of days in the forest rest house on payment of a nominal rent. The cook in the rest house will prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, with prior arrangements. This picturesque place can also be accessed from Honavar and Kumta towns.

Londa Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railway station. The nearest airport is Bangalore International Airport.
