Kedarnath Sanctuary




Kedarnath Sanctuary on the Garhwal Himalayas is situated in Rudraprayag District, Uttaranchal.

Kedarnath Sanctuary sprawls over 967 sq km and the wildlife population includes panther, musk deer, black and brown Himalayan bear, snow leopard, sambar deer, bharal, thar ghoral and monal pheasant.

The best season to visit is from April to June and from September to November.

Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun and Rishikesh Railway Station are the nearest accessible points. The famous pilgrim center of Ukhimath is an ideal base camp to explore the sanctuary.
