Kedara Ghat is one of the significant pilgrim spots in Varanasi
of Uttar Pradesh
. It is mythologically related to Kedarnath in the Himalayas. It is also the site of Haramapapa Teerth.
The highlight here is a red-and-white-striped temple, which enshrines Kedareshvara Lingam. The sanctums of Tarakesvara, Gauri Kunda and Vitanka Nrsimha can also be seen here. A monastery was attached to the temple by Kumaraswami, a great saint, during the 16th century.
This ghat is thronged by the devotees during the fifth Hindu month of Shravan (August).
