Katra is located in Rewa District of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated along the National Highway 3 and is about 16 km south of Teonthar. Rewa is around 60 km south of Katra.

Nearest airport is at Jabalpur. Mirzapur Railway Station and Majhgawan Railway Station are the nearest railheads.
