Katola




Katola is a variety of slit drum used by Hill Maria, a sub group of Gond Tribes, in Chhattisgarh. This instrument is a hollow and trapezoid wood similar to a winnow in structure. It has a longer side that opens as a narrow slit and the idiophone hangs on the neck. The instrument is beaten with a stick to produce sound.
