Kasida Embroidery

Kasida is a style of embroidery used mainly in adorning the shawls and saris of Jammu and Kashmir. This style is famous all over the world. The pattern for Kasida is freely drawn by the naqqash mostly from memory. These are varied, rich in color, elaborate in detail and exquisite in execution.

Miscellaneous articles like bags, screens and cushion covers are also made using this chain-stitch embroidery.
