Kashi Vishwanath Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Pattadakkal
(the second capital of the erstwhile Chalukyan
kings) in Karnataka
. The beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva

The sanctum of the temple has a sculptured niche on the bhadra-projections and is crowned by a squat and ponderous shikara. The shikara is divided into five storeys and belongs to the pancha-ratha variety. The roof of the mandapam is flat of two tiers, and the higher one is raised over the nave-pillars.
The nearest airport is at Bangalore and the railway station is at Badami. Taxis and private buses are extensively available from Badami to Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
