Karuva




Prevailing in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, Karuva Dance is performed by eight men dressed as Gopikas (the cowherd girls who were the devotees of Lord Krishna) and another eight dressed as Lord Krishna. The dancers stand in a circle with the pair of Radha and Krishna in the middle. The dance is accompanied by various rhymes.
