Karna Temple




Karna Temple, built around the 11th century, is situated in Shahdol District of Madhya Pradesh.

It is a triple shrined temple having plain walls of three registers. The temple consists of three sanctums, each with a tall Shikhara having seven offsets, and a common mandap, which has now been lost completely. It also has a vestibule with a stepped pyramidal roof and a pillared mandap roofed by pyramidal super-structure.

The major town close to the temple is Shahdol.
