Karbi Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary




Karbi Along Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 96 sq km in Karbi Anglong District of Assam.

Animals commonly found here are elephant, leopard, water buffalo, deer, monitor lizard and pythons. Bird species include great Himalayan hornbill, imperial pigeon, green pigeon, emerald dove, hill partridges, jungle fowl, pheasant, hoopoe, koel, king fisher, storks, herons, pelicans, wood pecker, mynas, yellow bittern and egrets.

Nearest major railhead is at Diphu.
