Karanji is situated on the Ahmednagar-Shevgaon route, on the State Highway 148. It is situated 8 km north-east of Kaudgaon and 10 km from Tisgaon, in Ahmednagar District. Devalgaonghat is the nearest settlement on the other side of the border, in Beed District.
The historic Mughal edifices and Ahmednagar Fort at Ahmednagar and Seclusion Hill are tourist sites nearby.
