Kapung is a dance-drama performed by the Kampti tribe of
Arunachal Pradesh. It is generally staged during the religious festivals of Potwah and Sankian or Khamsang. The rehearsal of this drama starts about one month before festival.
Kapung is performed in open space and women do not take part in the drama. It depicts Buddhist mythical events bearing ethical lessons.
