Kaonke




Kaonke is a small village around 7 km from Ludhiana. This village is a major Sikh site, believed to have been blessed by the visits of Guru Nanak and Guru Hargobind. Gurdwara Boharh Sahib, built in 1912, is the prime attraction. The village is also famous as the birth place of Bhai Gurdev Singh, the former caretaker of Akal Takht Sahib. Punjab Agricultural University, Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir and Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib are major attractions nearby. Regular buses are available from Ludhiana Central Bus Station. The nearest railhead is Ludhiana Junction Railway Station and Ludhiana Airport is the nearest airport.
