Kanutse

Placed at an altitude of 13,001 ft above sea level, Kanutse is a small town in Kargil District. It is 201 km away from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and is to the east of Kargil.

Kanutse is well linked with the neighboring places such as Sakist (9 km west), Hangdangsmin (9 km north), Goma Hanu (10 km east) and Santakhchan (11 km south). Some of the attractions outside the town include Mulbekh Gompa, Mulbekh Chamba and Futu La.

Kanutse can be reached from Mulbekh by road. Jammu Tawi Railway Station on the Jammu (278 km) – Pathankot line serves Kanutse.
