Kanichukulangara Festival




Kanichukulangara Festival is a ceremony celebrated at Kanichukulangara Devi Temple at Kanichukulangara in Alappuzha District of Kerala. This colorful 21 day festival begins with Kodiyettam, the ritual performed at the beginning of temple festivals.

The major attractions of the festival are Ottanthullal and Garudan Thookkam. The last day of the festival is concluded with the ceremonial Aarattu with a procession of elephants and drummers. A spectacular array of fireworks, which attracts a large number of people of all faith, are also displayed.

The nearest major access points to this place are Cochin International Airport and Alappuzha Railway Station.
