Kanhangad Muslim Yatheemkhana, established in 1973, is a caring center for the orphans and destitutes. The aim of the center is to make arrangements for their proper training including religious education. The center operates both boys and girls orphanages. Orphans are given free food and accommodation up to the secondary level education.
Orphanage Industrial Training Centre (OITC), situated in the same compound, aims at training the orphans (inmates) for job oriented self employment courses at free of cost. Courses such as cutting and tailoring, electronic mechanic and computer are given to eligible students. Orphans are also encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities.
Kanhangad Muslim Yatheemkhana is situated at Kanhangad, near the railway station, in Kasargod district.
