Kangthak-Haaba

Kangthak-Haaba is the traditional house built by the Chin-Kuki tribal group of Manipur. It is built in a typical pile-dwelling style and features an extensive use of bamboos in its construction. The pillars and support beams are made from either wood or bamboo. The roof is thatched and there is an extended verandah made of bamboo, with its platform covered with bamboo-mats. The walls, both temporary and permanent, are constructed using bamboo-mats.
