Kangla Fort

Kangla Fort, highly revered as a holy place by the Manipuris, is located at Imphal in Manipur. The top of the fort affords a beautiful view of the surrounding areas. The fort was once the seat of power for the Manipur kings until it fell into the hands of the British in 1892. The fort had witnessed many fierce battles against the erstwhile British authorities.

Imphal Airport is 8 km south of city center. The nearest railway station is at Dimapur, 215 km. It is well connected by road with Guwahati through National Highway 53.
