The Rathayatra festival of Manipur

Kang (Kong) is one of the greatest festivals of the Hindus of Manipur. This rathayatra (car festival) is celebrated in the month of July. It lasts for ten days. During the rathayatra, the idol of Lord Jagannath is taken out and carried by worshippers. The procession is accompanied by a music party with a pung (drum), nahal (large cymbals), gongs, bells, and conch. Feasts are arranged in the evening of the festival day. The main procession is held in the Govindajee temple.
