Kandal Village is situated near
Kunhimangalam in
Kannur District.

The villagers of Kandal have united together to preserve the beauty of the landscape and to prevent the destruction of the forest. The nurturing Kandal forest holds rare kind of plants and is the home for a large number of immigrant birds. Today the forest has 45 kinds of Kandals (Mango trees).
