Kanda Temples

Situated at a distance of 44 km from the district headquarters of Pauri, on the Srinagar- Delchauri road, is the Kanda group of temples. The images of Surya (10th century), Uma-Mahesh (11th century), Lakshmi-Narayan (12th century} and Vishnu (13th century) - all seated in the 'Garbh Griha’ (or inner Sanctum) of a Mother Goddess temple is the major attraction of the region. Archeologically, a number of stone images of various Gods - found in the vicinity - are very significant.
