Kanakavahini River

The Kanakavahini is a small stream of water that flows south of Sodaratirtha. This roaring stream is formed by the tributaries that flow out from the sacred Nundkol (Kalodoka) and Gangabal lakes. The white and foaming waters form a striking contrast to the sombre hue of the surrounding woods. The tortuous course of the Kankavahini from the Harmukh Mountain provides a scenic view to the visitors who are on their way to Wangath. One can also see the ruins of many temples on the right bank of the Kanakavahini. The place where the stream joins with the Indus River is known to be a sacred one.
