Kamaraj Memorial House




Kamaraj Memorial House is located at T Nagar, Chennai. It was inaugurated on July 15, 1978 by the then Chief Minister M G Ramachandran. The gallery showcases photographs and personal effects of Kamaraj. Photographs that show the life of Kamaraj from his childhood is kept on the walls. The spectacles, pens, a spool tape player and even a Gillette shaving set used by Kamaraj are kept for display. On the second floor, several luxuriant felicitation shawls of Kamaraj are on display. Other items include his simple attire, his suitcases, timepiece, pens and utensils. The prison coat worn by him while serving term in prison in 1942 is also displayed. It is open for visitors from morning to evening on all days.
