Kaman Pandigai

Kaman Pandigai, also known as Kamandi, is performed to commemorate the Puranic event when Lord Shiva burned Lord Kama to ashes in anger. The main characters are Lord Kama and Rati - his consort.

In this dance, the people in the village separate themselves into two parties: 'Erintha Katchi' and 'Eriyatha Katchi', and engages in a heated debate.
