Kamaksha Devi Temple is situated at Kao, seven kilometers from
Karsog in
Mandi District,
Himachal Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to
Goddess Durga. It is believed that Goddess Durga killed Mahishasur (a demon in the form of a buffalo) here. Several buffaloes are sacrificed every year during the
Navratri.
The temple has stunning wood carvings of Pagoda-style architecture.
