Surrounded by the tallest mountains in
Idukki District, Kalliyanathandu is a scenic locale located near Kattapana. This beautiful place is covered by forests noted for its flora and fauna. With vast watery expanses and blue hills kissing the skies, it is a unique spot where nature's splendor is at its best.
Kalvari Mount, Narakakkanam tunnel and Kathitheppu are the nearby tourist destinations. There are remains of an ancient temple on one side of Kalliyanathandu. For trekkers, Kalliyanathandu is an excellent location.
Food and accommodation are available at Kattapana, 13 km away. Kalliyanathandu is 68 km from Thodupuzha. To reach Kalliyanathandu, board any bus to Idukki or Kattapana and get down at 10th Mile, better known as Kalvari Mount. A 30 minute trek from here leads to the top of the mountain. The trek through the lovely, dark and deep woods is quite an experience.
