Kalkulathukavu Temple




Kalkulathukavu Temple is a highly revered shrine situated at Vazhapally in Changanacherry, Kottayam District. It is about 18 km from Kottayam, the district headquarters. This temple is well known for the Mudiyeduppu Utsavam, celebrated once in 12 years, and the rare art forms connected with the festival. Thousands of devotees take part in the procession which is a major event in the festival. Apart from the religious rites, there are also various activities pertaining to entertainment, complementing the festival.

Changanacherry Railway Station is the nearest railhead (2 km).
